Our Commitment

We envision a future where every woman has the opportunity to lead, every girl has the opportunity to dream, every young person has the opportunity to thrive, and every community has the opportunity to prosper.

The Women for Social & Rural Development Initiative

Women for Social and Rural Development Initiative (WSRDI) was established in response to the social and economic challenges faced by women and underserved populations, particularly those living in rural communities.
While women remain central to the wellbeing and development of families and communities, many continue to face barriers related to economic participation, leadership opportunities, access to information, education, mentorship, and sustainable livelihoods.

Vision

To build empowered women, thriving families, and resilient communities through sustainable development, transformational leadership, and inclusive social impact initiatives.

Mission

To empower women, girls, youth, and underserved communities through human capital development, economic empowerment, leadership development, mentorship, education, advocacy, and sustainable support systems that promote dignity, opportunity, self-reliance, and long-term community transformation.

What Our Community Say About
WSRDI

Ejiro Dumebi

Program Beneficiary

Before joining WSRDI's enterprise development program, running my small trade was a daily struggle with little direction. The financial literacy and hands-on business training gave me the clarity and confidence to expand my livelihood. Today, I can comfortably support my children’s education and give back to other women in my community.

Halimat Badamosi

Community Leader / Development Partner

WSRDI doesn't just deliver short-term support—they build sustainable systems that transform local communities. Their commitment to inclusive leadership, traditional stakeholder engagement, and real human capital development makes them one of the most reliable partner organizations we have worked with

Michael Kilanko

Youth Volunteer / NYSC Participant

Volunteering with WSRDI gave me a clear blueprint for what driving social change truly looks like. Through their youth development and mentorship initiatives, I gained real-world leadership skills, confidence, and a passion for advocating for underserved populations."

Precious Rowland

Volunteer

Charity is the voluntary act of giving help, typically in the form of money, time, or resources, to those in need. Charitable organizations aim to solve social, environmental, and economic challenges by addressing issues like poverty

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Women for Social and Rural Development Initiative (WSRDI) is a registered non-governmental organization (CAC RC: 7737576) dedicated to empowering women, girls, youth, and underserved communities across Nigeria. Headquartered in Lagos, we implement grassroots initiatives focused on human capital development, women's economic empowerment, leadership training, advocacy, and social development, particularly in rural and vulnerable regions.

We focus on sustainable human capital development rather than temporary fixes. Through our structured programs, including financial literacy, enterprise development, leadership coaching, and community outreach, we equip individuals with long-term skills, confidence, and networks. We also work directly with community leaders, government bodies, and traditional institutions to ensure local ownership and lasting social transformation.

There are several ways to support our mission! Individuals can sign up as Volunteers, corporate professionals can apply as Mentors for our leadership programs, and serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members can complete their primary assignment or community development service with us. Visit our Get Involved page or reach out via email to explore current opportunities

We actively partner with government agencies, private corporations, civil society organizations, and international development agencies to scale our impact. Collaborations can range from joint community outreach initiatives and program funding to strategic advocacy and capacity-building workshops. Interested partners can contact us directly at worsordinitiative@gmail.com or call +234 815 544 1111 to discuss strategic partnerships.
